LINKS

Well seeing as though we had to post a couple of links. I decided to post something that is of interest to me. So seeing that I love fashion, this blog is awesome and for those who have the same love and passion should check it out its called I am Fashion!

Issues in readings

For one blogging is a relatively new phenomenon and by the rate its going its definitely fast becoming a new form of communication and news. It is amazing how quickly people get on board and try out these new forms of technology. People have created blogs on everything from socks, to tuppaware, fashion to aliens. Blogging is a good way to keep people interacting and sharing ideas and interests. Take Facebook - everyone ultimately started getting an account once they started to see that it was taking off and fast becoming popular.

So for me, the "I am Fashion" blog clearly exemplifies the whole idea of keeping people with similar interests and ideas together and have them coming back for more. Because fashion is an ever changing world, this blog keeps up-to-date and looks at the most coverted things from Gossip Girl to Models.

There are many benefits to blogging and it should be duely noted that it will not be going anywhere anytime soon, and more people should start embracing it and using it as a new form of communication and also a new tool for disseminating news stories. Sometimes blogs and podcasts can be more reliable then the news. Who would have thought.

So, Blogging should be embraced. It allows people to keep in regular contact with other people that have similar interests and it allows for regular updates to information that may interest a much larger and more significant group of people.

Citizen Journalism

  1. Pretty much citizen journalism is a public form of journalism
  2. It is you or I - which are usually the audience - having an active role in reporting, analysing and disseminating news and information
  3. It is citizen generated media
  4. More and more news stations are encouraging citizens to submit images and sound files to their stations
  5. It is information and reporting by the people for the people
  6. Could also be called 'Citizen Media' - journalism is a profession and it provides the quality and breadth of content that keeps a large number of readers coming back for more
  7. It is becoming increasingly popular with young people
  8. One of the most remarkable features of the information revolution
  9. Blogs are particularly relevant here - but not the only mechanism used for this type of journalism - perosnal technological devices are being used at astronomical rates
  10. Big media is catching on
  11. News is being broken through online mediums
  12. Sometimes more accurate then the mainstream media
  13. Citizen journalism needs curators
